Overview
The right choice for processing tough, dense materials.
Crush or score cutting excels at slitting heavy materials such as rubber, sandpaper, roofing shingles, and fiberglass. It is also used to slit multi-layered tissue, nonwovens, and adhesive tapes.
Crush cutting offers certain advantages in appropriate environments.
- Positioning is easier than shear slitting
- Widths are available from 0.24" (6mm)
- Knives can be heated or lubricated to cut adhesive labels
- Initial cost is lower than shear slitting
Dienes crush cut knife holders can be put to use in most applications where shear slitting can be used, except with heavy fibrous scrim materials. Setup is fast, since there is no bottom knife to align. The maximum cutting speed is 4000 fpm (1219mpm).
Dienes's patented close-tolerance Score-Pak crush cut systems combine individual holders into precision cassettes of modular design. Simply change cassettes for different slit widths, reducing downtime and the possibility of setup errors.
