Increasing Capacities While Reducing Operating Expenses

The Dienes Group with 6 locations worldwide is one of the leading manufactures of slitter tooling and slitting systems. The fully automatic and computerized Dienes positioning system Module IV achieves the most precise positioning accuracy as well as the fastest strip width adjustment.

The individual positioning of the top and bottom knife units, equipped with state of the art software, developed by Dienes, as well as the utilization of the high precision Dienes mechanical components, such as the class of Dienes "ELITE" knife holders with patented vertical and horizontal guidance in conjunction with individual motorized bottom knives stations, especially designed for the given application guarantees and has proven to be successful throughout installations worldwide.

Our slitting systems cover the wide range of paper compositions and basis weights. Dienes manufactures fully automatic positioning systems for high-speed winders as well as for sheeters, which process heavy weight paper products.

For the first time ever worldwide, Dienes equipped a winder for producing paper cores with a material weight of 700g/m_, with a fully automatic Module IV positioning system, capable to slit down to a width of 50 mm and with a total of 50 slitting stations.

A positioning time of approximately 5 seconds for each slitting station as well as a total positioning time of 2 minutes will increase the capacities and reduce the operating expenses dramatically. This means production equipment expenses can be reduced by about DM 100,000.00 within one month, when looking at a winder with 10 slitting stations requiring two setups per day (number of slitting stations x equipment expenses/h x factor 0,049 x number of setups). Not considered as a part of this equation is the reduction of knife usage based upon the elimination of manual setup errors.

Dienes knife positioning systems are based on a modular concept. Depending upon the requirements and the budget a manual slitting system, Module II, can be upgraded in steps to a fully automatic Module IV positioning system.

More than 400 slitting systems have been installed worldwide, which is proof of the competence and knowledge of the Dienes Group.
