CamB_5: Computer Aided Software For Shimless Slitter Tooling Setups

CamB 5 is a WINDOWS™ based shimless slitting software program developed to offer the end user a more sophisticated level of versatility in conjunction with operator friendly control input features, necessary for today’s metal processing environment.

With an integrated quality control management program, CamB 5 enables the user to retrieve detailed information and documentation from processed strip results. Documentation and the level of available information will increase with the usage of this feature, allowing the user to continually improve their customized slitting operations.

MAIN SCREEN: All necessary, customized input data needed to create a shimless setup successfully are accessible on the main screen. This does includes added features such as:

• Tool Management, which offers a complete inventory of the customized, shimless tooling package. Tooling inventory control, adding deleting tooling quantities as well as tooling sizes and types of tools.
• Regrind Management, which gives easy access to the tooling to be ground, assuring a constant updated inventory of quantities and diameters
• Horizontal clearances according to material or tensile strength (KSI)
• Stripper ring assignment according to inventory
• Separator Shaft clearances according to gauge and strip width
• Adjustments to slitter arbor, separator shaft, tension shaft and loop doubler shaft
• Automatic compensation for possible offset between shoulders of top and bottom arbor
• Various default settings. Besides numerous optional printouts, which can be selected by the user, the program does also create a complete list of the tooling needed for the selected setup. Output of the setup can either be steered to the monitor or to a printer.
• Coil Calculator, eliminates the use of slide rulers
• File Management offers access to saved setups for immediate retrieval. In addition to the various management tools, options are available to the user for easy customization of program options.

HARDWARE: I.B.M. compatible computer, 746 MHz Processor, 320 MB RAM, Monitor to allow for a minimum resolution of 1028 x 786 pixel CD-ROM drive required

SOFTWARE: WINDOWS 2000™ Professional or WINDOWS NT™, Version 4.0 or higher or WINDOWS XP™
