The Dienes Heated Knife Manual Control System
|
The Dienes Heated Knife Manual Control System is a stand-alone system for controlling the temperature of individual heating elements, providing smooth, consistent slit edges while maximizing element blade life.
System Features
- Simple dial settings on silkscreened panel
- Temperature readout of individual heaters
- Speed trim adjust
- Standby mode
- "Line run" interlocks for safety
- "Standby interlocks" to prevent starting in standby mode
- Individual heated knife "on/off" control
- Power on/blown fuse indicator for each heated knife
- Fuses replaced without opening enclosure
|

The operator sets the desired temperature setting with a pot (A) which merges with the signal from the speed trim pot (B), which is then sent to the "SCR" module (located in the control enclosure) which in turn controls the voltage to the operator selected heaters (C). The readout (D) displays the temperature of the heater selected by knob (E).
