Quick Change Bottom Knife Head

The Dienes patented "Quick Change Bottom Knife Head" reduces knife change down time to less than 30 seconds. The knife is designed to fit one of Dienes' AC variable speed synchronous motors. These motors, used instead of an expanding air shaft allow wider webs to run at speeds up to 9,000 FPM. Motors have a variety of mounting options for retrofit or new machinery.

The "Quick Change Knives" are double sided and made from carbide steel. With a simple air connection and turn of the knife the motor is ready for a new knife edge.

Individually driven motor bottom knives, and the Dienes patented ES-Tab position assist top knife holders, mounted on linear bearings, offer the best possible manual set up available.

Features

  • Compact motor knife arrangement
  • Double sided carbide knives
  • Both AC variable speed synchronous and 50mm wide DC motors
  • Fixed, dovetail or "T" slot, or linear bearing mount arrangements
  • Various speed and power options
  • Loose knife indicators

Recommended for automatic positioning systems

Benefits

  • Less down time compared to shaft removing for knife change
  • High accuracy knife axial and radial runout for longer knife life; <=0.002"

Improve manual top and bottom knife set ups when used with ES-Tab equipped Dienes top knife holders

Operation
