Dienes' Automatic Slitter Knife Face Polishing Machine economically and consistently provides a mirror-like finish on rotary slitting knives, achieving a better quality cut and extending knife life. It's ideal for both knife manufacturers and slitters that wish to refurbish their knives in-house. Typically, companies slitting aluminum, brass, copper and other soft metals experience a knife edge buildup that progressively adversely affects the knife's cutting abilities and its dimensional characteristics. This automatic polisher restores the fine edge with no real change in the thickness of the original blade. The orbital eccentric action of the polisher ensures even polishing across the entire face. Normally, a knife can be refurbished in no more than 5-15 seconds per side, but a window of up to 100 seconds is provided for excessive buildups. The face polishing machine is not recommended and must not be used for cleaning or polishing spacers. This will result in dimensional changes due to the lower hardness level and smaller surface area of spacers compared to knives.
